checking in

Re-surfacing for a moment - literally. I'm travelling for work and I just got out of the pool to check my email and then I'm going back in. Maybe I'll have a martini for you.

It's beautiful here in cowboy country. The weather is a perfect dry 28 degrees. As you can see I'm not working too hard to enjoy myself. I just thought I'd write a quick note to explain my absence.

I'll be back soon y'all.

That's right Ronin - I am one of "those". Back in Toronto and it is HOT - really hot. I love it!

MOC! I've been wondering what's going on with you. I'm so glad to see you're back! And now I get to read yours too, and I'm looking forward to it.

LX - I haven't been hanging around your part of the word, however I have been spending time in a place where wrangelers and stetsons trump 7's and wedge heels, where the standard car is not a lexus or a volvo, rather a big pick-up truck (with monster wheels for bonus points). The more affluent folk drive hummers. There is no apparent concern for fuel efficiency there (even at $1.12/L). It's the home of the stampede (you guessed right MOC). So that's where that came from, y'all.

sounds like the flipside of "townies." still a shitty deal, if you ax me.
also...people not giving a shit about gas consumption and energy waste are overall idjits. even now...NOW, with all the evidence of how badly we're fucking up (and the U.S. is first on thelist), and people still buy HUMMERS and large trucks. fucking idjits. but i'm off on my tangent again.
